Building Tune-up
HVAC Tune-up: Changing to Deemed Savings Approach

The HVAC Tune-up offering will be changing to the Deemed Savings Approach. Contractors will no longer be required to take specific equipment readings. The incentive also will be one fixed amount instead of the existing tiered incentive approach. This change aims to simplify the process for Service Providers.
Changes to BT Incentive Structure:

Pepco and Delmarva Power have announced a new incentive structure for the Building Tune-up Program that began on Jan. 1, 2022. It applies to Small Building Tune-up, Full Building Tune-up, and Monitoring-Based Commissioning. The table below summarizes the updated incentives.
The new incentive structure will not affect applications already submitted, and the previous incentives will continue for all applications received through Dec. 31, 2021.

Removal of DLC Premium Requirement for Fixtures:

DLC-listed fixtures have been added to Pepco’s Business Instant Discounts Program as of Jan. 1, 2022. Additionally, for both Pepco and Delmarva Power, DLC fixtures may now be either DLC standard or DLC premium.
These changes are based on Service Provider feedback and aim to alleviate supply chain issues that customers and distributors have previously encountered participating in the Business Instant Discounts Program.

Small Business Project of the Quarter
Congratulations to EWPros, LLC for receiving the Small Business Project of the Quarter for their work with Oxon Hill United Methodist Church in Oxon Hill, MD. This lighting project, completed through Pepco’s Energy Savings for Business—Small Business Program, consisted of installing new indoor and outdoor LED lighting measures as well as controls. Reverend Mi Ja Cho was impressed with the project, saying, “EWPros was so accommodating. They were able to work around our events and services so the church did not have any changes to their day-to-day activities. There is a dramatic aesthetic difference throughout the building and a constant brightness all over. We are so pleased with the lighting installation that the church will be moving forward with an HVAC project before the year’s end.”
Thanks to these upgrades, Oxon Hill United Methodist Church will save approximately 61,576 kWh annually and receive $24,420 in incentives.
Think you could be the next Small Business Project of the Quarter? Submit your Q4 2021 project nominations to FPhillips@trccompanies.com for a chance to be featured in a future newsletter.
